Let me address the elephant in the room...

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten crazy reactions from people after they find out that I graduated college debt-free and that I navigate students towards achieving that freedom for themselves as well.

One of the craziest responses I received came from a man that I met at an event almost two years ago. After he learned that I graduated debt-free and guide students towards funding their education debt-free, he said, “What do you do, play with unicorns all day?” His colleague standing with him immediately looked embarrassed. After the conversation was over and the man walked away, what happened next was so amazing. His colleague remained at my table and shared with me that she, too, had graduated college debt-free!

I share this story to illustrate the unfortunate misunderstanding our society has towards graduating college debt-free and the possibility of achieving that.

I navigate students towards funding college debt-free through my step-by-step proven system.

During my speaking engagements, most students guess that the percentage of students who graduate debt-free is around one percent. However, the real answer is approximately 30 percent! That’s a lot more than what is perceived.

While on the spectrum of 0-100 percent, 30 percent falls on the lower end of the spectrum, there is some good news. Many schools are offering loan-free and tuition-free programs! (To learn more about these programs, read this recent blog post). In addition, more companies and organizations are making this a priority by offering scholarships and programs of their own.

My Answer

Is debt-free graduation really possible?

Well, my friend, that answer is up to you. Have people achieved it? Yes. Will it be easy? No.

Elease, what’s the secret?

I get this question all the time, and I’m about to share it with you. Are you ready? Consistency. Consistency with looking for scholarships and programs, consistency with applying for scholarships and other programs, and consistency with reminding yourself why you are on this journey.

I know that is probably not the answer you were expecting, but it’s true. I’ve mentored many students over the years and the ones who remained consistent were the ones who saw results. Tony Robbins, world-renowned motivational speaker, refers to success as, “…80 percent psychology and 20 percent skills.” This is so true because it doesn’t matter how skilled you are at writing an application essay or how well you are at school with your grades, if you do not take action, you will not see results.
